New Baby Gift Ideas - Finding That Perfect Baby Gift

When a newborn arrives these tiny little people have more needs than most adults do! They need diapers, baby toys, formula, baby bottles, pacifiers, and the list goes on and on. That's why sending a diaper cake or a new baby gift basket is the perfect idea!

So, what the heck is a diaper cake? Yeap, it's just like it sounds. Well, sort of. A diaper cake is actually a bundle of baby gifts all tucked neatly into diapers that have been designed to look like a cake. They make terrific centerpieces during a baby shower and afterwards they are full of wonderful gifts that are perfect for the new baby. Diaper cakes can have literally an endless supply of gifts too. They are actually made using diapers (which of course EVERY baby needs)! Then all of the other little gifts are tucked neatly inside. Some of the gifts added to diaper cakes are toys, clothing, bottles, stuffed animals and more. Diaper cakes are the perfect gift for anyone having a new baby!

So, what about new baby gift baskets? A baby gift basket is filled full of gifts for the baby and many come with gifts for the new mom as well. They come filled with bottles, rattles, toys, stuffed animals, and sometimes even chocolate or spa products for the new mom. Baby gift baskets make a perfect baby shower gift as well.

So, if you are looking for the perfect gift for the new baby then consider sending a diaper cake or a new baby gift basket. You just can't go wrong with either of them!

Summer Baby Clothes

Summer baby clothes are designed to keep the baby cool and comfortable during the warm and hot days. The most sensible baby clothes for summer wear are lightweight, light-colored cotton onesies. They are an excellent substitute to baby pants and shirts and will rarely cause irritation, rashes, or itching.

Parents should opt for baby clothes that are easy to change and simple to wear and remove in hot, sticky weather conditions. Babies should be dressed in the most comfortable materials that will maintain appropriate temperature. Avoid dressing babies in heavy summer clothes or wrapping them in warm blankets. Tightly woven fabrics are more protective than loose weaves.

Choose baby clothes made from natural fibers, rather than manmade materials. This is because manmade fibers don't breathe as well as natural fibers and can be uncomfortably warm, especially in summer. Keep the baby's skin covered as much as possible because the skin's sun protection system isn't entirely developed yet; this can cause the skin to burn more easily in babies. Long pants, long-sleeved shirts, socks, and brimmed hats to avoid sunburn and sun glare are the best outfits for hot conditions. Chemical-free sunscreen ointments or lotions can be applied to the baby's body, particularly on the arms and legs, where the sun's rays will probably directly hit.

For those hot summer months, parents will certainly need to stock the child's wardrobe with plenty of baby summer apparel. These summer baby clothes are available in individual pieces or matching outfits, and the price range varies greatly. Baby stores feature the cutest styles and the most appropriate baby summer apparel to combat outside heat. Parents can also shop for their favorite designer's summer baby clothes, by brand, size, or gender over the Internet.

The History of Irish Baby Names

Irish baby names have close links to other categories of baby names. They are strongly linked with Celtic baby names and also Gaelic baby names (Gaelic is the Irish for Irish). Irish baby names is often an umbrella term to include all the names under Celtic, Gaelic and Irish origin.

Like a lot of old names, Irish names tend to describe something or mean something. For example the Irish boys name Donnacha means "dark haired warrior" from the Gaelic "donn" meaning "brown" and "cath" meaning "battle". This is what it originally meant. The name became popular but the meaning wasnt really known that well.

Over time, pure Irish names became Anglicized. The popular Irish name Kevin comes from the Gaelic Caoimhin, and there is also a feminine version of the name Caoimhe.

One of the reasons Irish names are popular is that they do have a rich history and background. It is almost as if you are to continue the work performed by your historic namesake, or will inherit their help and approval just by taking their name.

Traditional Gaelic names such as Niamh (Beautiful, bright) and Cian (Ancient) are also becoming very popular again, not just in Ireland but also among the vast ex-pat Irish-American population and also in other areas of the world. But these names were not always so popular. At one time they were outlawed. The violent struggle between the English Protestant and the Catholic churches resulted in the disappearance of Gaelic names. This history seems to make those names even more popular now.
